Eligibility criteria for SSC

The government recruitment committee for Group B & Group C staffing has set SSC eligibility criteria for various types of examinations. Each SSC exam has a different type of SSC eligibility criteria as per the required skillset within the department or ministries. Eligibility criteria include qualification, nationality, age, percentile, etc. 

Since 1975, the Staff Selection Commission in India commencing numerous examinations for distinct departments or ministries. Each department exam requires candidates to have a specific qualification, age limit & skill set depending on which examination syllabus & criteria have been decided by the committee. In this blog, we have mentioned the Eligibility criteria for SSC each examination, post, department, or profile. 

Eligibility Criteria For SSC

As we have mentioned above the Staff Selection Commission has set different eligibility criteria for the examination of different posts. There is some basic eligibility for appearing in any SSC examination

Nationality: The Candidate appearing for any SSC examination must hold INDIAN nationality. 

Age Limit: The age limit of aspirants seeking SSC jobs should be more than 18 years & not less than 32 years. The age limit can also vary as per the different examinations or posts. 

Educational Qualification: The 12th passed or bachelor degree posses aspirant is eligible to appear in SSC examinations

What is SSC age relaxation?

For the reserved & special category, SSC facilitates some age relaxation to the aspirants. Following is the age relaxation for the different categories;

List Of SSC Exams & their Eligibility Criteria

1. SSC CGL Exam Eligibility 

SSC CGL Exam is the most popular exam amongst all the SSC exams. Aspirants should pass each eligibility criteria released by the Staff Selection Commission on their website; 

Nationality/ Citizenship For SSC CGL;

A candidate must be either:

(a) a citizen of India

or (b) a subject of Nepal

or (c) a subject of Bhutan

or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India

or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

SSC CGL Age Limit

The age limit of SSC CGL for various posts is between 18 years to 32 years.

There is a certain SSC CGL age limit relaxation for candidates belonging to special categories.

SSC CGL Educational Qualification

Essential Educational Qualifications for the SSC CGL Exam are as follows:

Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer:–

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute

Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level. OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level.

All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

2. SSC CHSL Exam Eligibility 

Every year Staff Selection Commission in India conduct SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) Examination to recruit aspirants for Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA), Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO). Aspirants who wants to register in below are mandate to clear the below mentioned SSC CHSL eligibility criteria 2022;

The aspirants nationality should be as following;

SSC JEE stands for Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer Exam which is conducted by the SSC to recruit for the engineering positions in government departments or ministries.

SSC CPO Eligibility

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria Overview

SSC CPO Nationality/CitizenshipA candidate must be either:

Who is eligible for SSC exam?

SSC has set a few eligibility criteria for each examination. SSC basic eligibility criteria are:
a) the aspirant should hold Indian citizenship,
b) the aspirant should be in between18-32 years old
c) the aspirant should be 12th passed or bachelor degree posses

Will SSC increase age limit?

Yes, the SSC has relaxed the age limit to 18 from 22 & for SSC CGL it has been updated 30 from 27.

How many attempts are there in SSC?

There is no such limitation for number of attempts in SSC but there is age limit for the aspirants to appear in SSC examination.
